Verse 14

O Kl,
spouse of Giria, 1 Thou art Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether. 2 Thou art all. Thou art one and beneficent. 3 What can be said in praise of Thee, O Mother? Of Thy mercy show Thy favour towards me, helpless as I am. By Thy grace may I never be reborn. 4

\"'Kl'"

Dispeller of the fear Kla or Death.

"'Thou art Earth' (Dharitr kllangshachirapi samropi gaganam)"

Guptrava-Tantra says, 'Thou art Earth, Thou art Water, Thou art Fire, Thou art the Air of the world, Thou art Ether, Thou art Mind as Manas, Ahakra, Mahat (Buddhi) and Thou art Prakti. Thou art also, Oh Mother, tm. Thou art the Supreme. Nothing is greater than Thee. Oh Dev of terrible form showing Thy teeth may my sins be forgiven me.' The Triput-Stotra also says, 'Thou art the dhra-akti and the dhra. Thou dost pervade the world and the world is in Thee.'

"'One' (Ek)"

Without a second.

"'Beneficent' (Kalyn)"

Because She grants Nirva Liberation to Jvas.

"'Spouse of Girisha' (Giriaraman)"

Spouse of iva. Or He who is in the Giri or Kta is Giria that is Ktastha-Brahman; His spouse or akti. Though changeless (Nirvikr) Thou dost appear as the twenty-four Tattvas, namely,

[paragraph continues] Earth and the rest through Thy My. The Devskta of the g-Veda says, 'Thou who art one and many, subtle and the Vikras (gross things) and giveth birth to millions of universes.'

"'All' (Sakala)"

ruti says, 'Verily all this is Brahman '.

On account of liability to rebirth despite Sdhana.

Ligapura says, Dev becomes matter' ("Ketra"). She is "Ketrasvarp", that is, the field or matter which is known by the soul ("Ketraja"). See Lalit Sahasranma (fourth hundred) for the Brahman who creates the visible world Itself enters into it ("Tat stv td evnuprviat".)

\"Kalyi". According to the Padma-Pura, Dev is worshipped as "Kalyi" in the Malaya Mountain.

\"Bhava anu na bhyn mama januh", that is, liberated. The ymrahasya reads "Bhava ananubhyt", using "bhava" as meaning "duhkha" (pain), arising from "bhava" (the world) (K. B.).
