3 If so be194 they will hearken,8085 and turn7725 every man376 from his evil7451 way,4480 1870 that I may repent5162 me of413 the evil,7451 which834 I595 purpose2803 to do6213 unto them because4480 6440 of the evil7455 of their doings.4611
4 And thou shalt say559 unto413 them, Thus3541 saith559 the Lord;3068 If518 ye will not3808 hearken8085 to413 me, to walk1980 in my law,8451 which834 I have set5414 before6440 you,
5 To hearken8085 to5921 the words1697 of my servants5650 the prophets,5030 whom834 I595 sent7971 unto413 you, both rising up early,7925 and sending7971 them, but ye have not3808 hearkened;8085
6 Then will I make5414 853 this2088 house1004 like Shiloh,7887 and will make5414 this2063 city5892 a curse7045 to all3605 the nations1471 of the earth.776
7 So the priests3548 and the prophets5030 and all3605 the people5971 heard8085 853 Jeremiah3414 speaking1696 853 these428 words1697 in the house1004 of the Lord.3068
8 Now it came to pass,1961 when Jeremiah3414 had made an end3615 of speaking1696 853 all3605 that834 the LORD3068 had commanded6680 him to speak1696 unto413 all3605 the people,5971 that the priests3548 and the prophets5030 and all3605 the people5971 took8610 him, saying,559 Thou shalt surely die.4191 4191
9 Why4069 hast thou prophesied5012 in the name8034 of the Lord,3068 saying,559 This2088 house1004 shall be1961 like Shiloh,7887 and this2063 city5892 shall be desolate2717 without4480 369 an inhabitant?3427 And all3605 the people5971 were gathered6950 against413 Jeremiah3414 in the house1004 of the Lord.3068
10 When the princes8269 of Judah3063 heard8085 853 these428 things,1697 then they came up5927 from the king's4428 house4480 1004 unto the house1004 of the Lord,3068 and sat down3427 in the entry6607 of the new2319 gate8179 of the LORD's3068 house.
11 Then spoke559 the priests3548 and the prophets5030 unto413 the princes8269 and to413 all3605 the people,5971 saying,559 This2088 man376 is worthy4941 to die;4194 for3588 he hath prophesied5012 against413 this2063 city,5892 as834 ye have heard8085 with your ears.241
12 Then spoke559 Jeremiah3414 unto413 all3605 the princes8269 and to413 all3605 the people,5971 saying,559 The LORD3068 sent7971 me to prophesy5012 against413 this2088 house1004 and against413 this2063 city5892 all3605 the words1697 that834 ye have heard.8085
13 Therefore now6258 amend3190 your ways1870 and your doings,4611 and obey8085 the voice6963 of the LORD3068 your God;430 and the LORD3068 will repent5162 him of413 the evil7451 that834 he hath pronounced1696 against5921 you.
14 As for me,589 behold,2009 I am in your hand:3027 do6213 with me as seemeth5869 good2896 and meet3477 unto you.

16 Then said559 the princes8269 and all3605 the people5971 unto413 the priests3548 and to413 the prophets;5030 This2088 man376 is not369 worthy4941 to die:4194 for3588 he hath spoken1696 to413 us in the name8034 of the LORD3068 our God.430
17 Then rose up6965 certain376 of the elders4480 2205 of the land,776 and spoke559 to413 all3605 the assembly6951 of the people,5971 saying,559
18 Micah4320 the Morasthite4183 prophesied1961 5012 in the days3117 of Hezekiah2396 king4428 of Judah,3063 and spoke559 to413 all3605 the people5971 of Judah,3063 saying,559 Thus3541 saith559 the LORD3068 of hosts;6635 Zion6726 shall be plowed2790 like a field,7704 and Jerusalem3389 shall become1961 heaps,5856 and the mountain2022 of the house1004 as the high places1116 of a forest.3293

21 And when Jehoiakim3079 the king,4428 with all3605 his mighty men,1368 and all3605 the princes,8269 heard8085 853 his words,1697 the king4428 sought1245 to put him to death:4191 but when Urijah223 heard8085 it, he was afraid,3372 and fled,1272 and went into935 Egypt;4714
22 And Jehoiakim3079 the king4428 sent7971 men376 into Egypt,4714 namely, 853 Elnathan494 the son1121 of Achbor,5907 and certain men376 with854 him into413 Egypt.4714
23 And they fetched forth3318 853 Urijah223 out of Egypt,4480 4714 and brought935 him unto413 Jehoiakim3079 the king;4428 who slew5221 him with the sword,2719 and cast7993 853 his dead body5038 into413 the graves6913 of the common1121 people.5971
24 Nevertheless389 the hand3027 of Ahikam296 the son1121 of Shaphan8227 was1961 with854 Jeremiah,3414 that they should not1115 give5414 him into the hand3027 of the people5971 to put him to death.4191

2 τῇ Αἰγύπτῳ ἐπὶ δύναμιν Φαραω Νεχαω βασιλέως Αἰγύπτου ὃς ἦν ἐπὶ τῷ ποταμῷ Εὐφράτῃ ἐν Χαρχαμις ὃν ἐπάταξε Ναβουχοδονοσορ βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος ἐν τῷ ἔτει τῷ τετάρτῳ Ιωακιμ βασιλέως Ιουδα
3 ἀναλάβετε ὅπλα καὶ ἀσπίδας καὶ προσαγάγετε εἰς πόλεμον
4 ἐπισάξατε τοὺς ἵππους ἐπίβητε οἱ ἱππεῖς καὶ κατάστητε ἐν ταῖς περικεφαλαίαις ὑμῶν προβάλετε τὰ δόρατα καὶ ἐνδύσασθε τοὺς θώρακας ὑμῶν
5 τί ὅτι αὐτοὶ πτοοῦνται καὶ ἀποχωροῦσιν ὀπίσω διότι οἱ ἰσχυροὶ αὐτῶν κοπήσονται φυγῇ ἔφυγον καὶ οὐκ ἀνέστρεψαν περιεχόμενοι κυκλόθεν λέγει κύριος
6 μὴ φευγέτω ὁ κοῦφος καὶ μὴ ἀνασῳζέσθω ὁ ἰσχυρός ἐπὶ βορρᾶν τὰ παρὰ τὸν Εὐφράτην ἠσθένησαν πεπτώκασιν
7 τίς οὗτος ὡς ποταμὸς ἀναβήσεται καὶ ὡς ποταμοὶ κυμαίνουσιν ὕδωρ
8 ὕδατα Αἰγύπτου ὡσεὶ ποταμὸς ἀναβήσεται καὶ εἶπεν ἀναβήσομαι καὶ κατακαλύψω γῆν καὶ ἀπολῶ κατοικοῦντας ἐν αὐτῇ
9 ἐπίβητε ἐπὶ τοὺς ἵππους παρασκευάσατε τὰ ἅρματα ἐξέλθατε οἱ μαχηταὶ Αἰθιόπων καὶ Λίβυες καθωπλισμένοι ὅπλοις καὶ Λυδοί ἀνάβητε ἐντείνατε τόξον
10 καὶ ἡ ἡμέρα ἐκείνη κυρίῳ τῷ θεῷ ἡμῶν ἡμέρα ἐκδικήσεως τοῦ ἐκδικῆσαι τοὺς ἐχθροὺς αὐτοῦ καὶ καταφάγεται ἡ μάχαιρα κυρίου καὶ ἐμπλησθήσεται καὶ μεθυσθήσεται ἀπὸ τοῦ αἵματος αὐτῶν ὅτι θυσία τῷ κυρίῳ σαβαωθ ἀπὸ γῆς βορρᾶ ἐπὶ ποταμῷ Εὐφράτῃ
11 ἀνάβηθι Γαλααδ καὶ λαβὲ ῥητίνην τῇ παρθένῳ θυγατρὶ Αἰγύπτου εἰς κενὸν ἐπλήθυνας ἰάματά σου ὠφέλεια οὐκ ἔστιν σοί
12 ἤκουσαν ἔθνη φωνήν σου καὶ τῆς κραυγῆς σου ἐπλήσθη ἡ γῆ ὅτι μαχητὴς πρὸς μαχητὴν ἠσθένησεν ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸ ἔπεσαν ἀμφότεροι
13 ἃ ἐλάλησεν κύριος ἐν χειρὶ Ιερεμιου τοῦ ἐλθεῖν Ναβουχοδονοσορ τὸν βασιλέα Βαβυλῶνος τοῦ κόψαι τὴν γῆν Αἰγύπτου
14 ἀναγγείλατε εἰς Μάγδωλον καὶ παραγγείλατε εἰς Μέμφιν εἴπατε ἐπίστηθι καὶ ἑτοίμασον ὅτι κατέφαγεν μάχαιρα τὴν σμίλακά σου
15 διὰ τί ἔφυγεν ὁ Ἆπις ὁ μόσχος ὁ ἐκλεκτός σου οὐκ ἔμεινεν ὅτι κύριος παρέλυσεν αὐτόν
16 καὶ τὸ πλῆθός σου ἠσθένησεν καὶ ἔπεσεν καὶ ἕκαστος πρὸς τὸν πλησίον αὐτοῦ ἐλάλει ἀναστῶμεν καὶ ἀναστρέψωμεν πρὸς τὸν λαὸν ἡμῶν εἰς τὴν πατρίδα ἡμῶν ἀπὸ προσώπου μαχαίρας Ἑλληνικῆς
17 καλέσατε τὸ ὄνομα Φαραω Νεχαω βασιλέως Αἰγύπτου Σαων-εσβι-εμωηδ
18 ζῶ ἐγώ λέγει κύριος ὁ θεός ὅτι ὡς τὸ Ἰταβύριον ἐν τοῖς ὄρεσιν καὶ ὡς ὁ Κάρμηλος ἐν τῇ θαλάσσῃ ἥξει
19 σκεύη ἀποικισμοῦ ποίησον σεαυτῇ κατοικοῦσα θύγατερ Αἰγύπτου ὅτι Μέμφις εἰς ἀφανισμὸν ἔσται καὶ κληθήσεται οὐαὶ διὰ τὸ μὴ ὑπάρχειν κατοικοῦντας ἐν αὐτῇ
20 δάμαλις κεκαλλωπισμένη Αἴγυπτος ἀπόσπασμα ἀπὸ βορρᾶ ἦλθεν ἐπ᾽ αὐτήν
21 καὶ οἱ μισθωτοὶ αὐτῆς ἐν αὐτῇ ὥσπερ μόσχοι σιτευτοὶ τρεφόμενοι ἐν αὐτῇ διότι καὶ αὐτοὶ ἀπεστράφησαν καὶ ἔφυγον ὁμοθυμαδόν οὐκ ἔστησαν ὅτι ἡμέρα ἀπωλείας ἦλθεν ἐπ᾽ αὐτοὺς καὶ καιρὸς ἐκδικήσεως αὐτῶν
22 φωνὴ ὡς ὄφεως συρίζοντος ὅτι ἐν ἄμμῳ πορεύσονται ἐν ἀξίναις ἥξουσιν ἐπ᾽ αὐτὴν ὡς κόπτοντες ξύλα
23 ἐκκόψουσιν τὸν δρυμὸν αὐτῆς λέγει κύριος ὁ θεός ὅτι οὐ μὴ εἰκασθῇ ὅτι πληθύνει ὑπὲρ ἀκρίδα καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν αὐτοῖς ἀριθμός
24 κατῃσχύνθη θυγάτηρ Αἰγύπτου παρεδόθη εἰς χεῖρας λαοῦ ἀπὸ βορρᾶ
25 ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐκδικῶ τὸν Αμων τὸν υἱὸν αὐτῆς ἐπὶ Φαραω καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς πεποιθότας ἐπ᾽ αὐτῷ
27 σὺ δὲ μὴ φοβηθῇς δοῦλός μου Ιακωβ μηδὲ πτοηθῇς Ισραηλ διότι ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ σῴζων σε μακρόθεν καὶ τὸ σπέρμα σου ἐκ τῆς αἰχμαλωσίας αὐτῶν καὶ ἀναστρέψει Ιακωβ καὶ ἡσυχάσει καὶ ὑπνώσει καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ὁ παρενοχλῶν αὐτόν
28 μὴ φοβοῦ παῖς μου Ιακωβ λέγει κύριος ὅτι μετὰ σοῦ ἐγώ εἰμι ὅτι ποιήσω συντέλειαν ἐν παντὶ ἔθνει εἰς οὓς ἐξῶσά σε ἐκεῖ σὲ δὲ οὐ μὴ ποιήσω ἐκλιπεῖν καὶ παιδεύσω σε εἰς κρίμα καὶ ἀθῷον οὐκ ἀθῳώσω σε

1 בְּרֵאשִׁ֗ית מַמְלְכ֛וּת יְהוֹיָקִ֥ים בֶּן־יֹאשִׁיָּ֖הוּ מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֑ה הָיָה֙ הַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֔ה מֵאֵ֥ת יְהוָ֖ה לֵאמֹֽר׃
2 כֹּ֣ה׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה עֲמֹד֮ בַּחֲצַ֣ר בֵּית־יְהוָה֒ וְדִבַּרְתָּ֞ עַל־כָּל־עָרֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֗ה הַבָּאִים֙ לְהִשְׁתַּחֲוֹ֣ת בֵּית־יְהוָ֔ה אֵ֚ת כָּל־הַדְּבָרִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוִּיתִ֖יךָ לְדַבֵּ֣ר אֲלֵיהֶ֑ם אַל־תִּגְרַ֖ע דָּבָֽר׃
3 אוּלַ֣י יִשְׁמְע֔וּ וְיָשֻׁ֕בוּ אִ֖ישׁ מִדַּרְכּ֣וֹ הָרָעָ֑ה וְנִחַמְתִּ֣י אֶל־הָרָעָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר אָנֹכִ֤י חֹשֵׁב֙ לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת לָהֶ֔ם מִפְּנֵ֖י רֹ֥עַ מַעַלְלֵיהֶֽם׃
4 וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם כֹּ֖ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֑ה אִם־לֹ֤א תִשְׁמְעוּ֙ אֵלַ֔י לָלֶ֙כֶת֙ בְּת֣וֹרָתִ֔י אֲשֶׁ֥ר נָתַ֖תִּי לִפְנֵיכֶֽם׃
5 לִשְׁמֹ֗עַ עַל־דִּבְרֵ֨י עֲבָדַ֣י הַנְּבִאִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר אָנֹכִ֖י שֹׁלֵ֣חַ אֲלֵיכֶ֑ם וְהַשְׁכֵּ֥ם וְשָׁלֹ֖חַ וְלֹ֥א שְׁמַעְתֶּֽם׃
6 וְנָתַתִּ֛י אֶת־הַבַּ֥יִת הַזֶּ֖ה כְּשִׁלֹ֑ה וְאֶת־הָעִ֤יר הזאתה הַזֹּאת֙ אֶתֵּ֣ן לִקְלָלָ֔ה לְכֹ֖ל גּוֹיֵ֥י הָאָֽרֶץ׃ ס
7 וַֽיִּשְׁמְע֛וּ הַכֹּהֲנִ֥ים וְהַנְּבִאִ֖ים וְכָל־הָעָ֑ם אֶֽת־יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ מְדַבֵּ֛ר אֶת־הַדְּבָרִ֥ים הָאֵ֖לֶּה בְּבֵ֥ית יְהוָֽה׃
8 וַיְהִ֣י׀ כְּכַלּ֣וֹת יִרְמְיָ֗הוּ לְדַבֵּר֙ אֵ֣ת כָּל־אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּ֣ה יְהוָ֔ה לְדַבֵּ֖ר אֶל־כָּל־הָעָ֑ם וַיִּתְפְּשׂ֨וּ אֹת֜וֹ הַכֹּהֲנִ֧ים וְהַנְּבִאִ֛ים וְכָל־הָעָ֥ם לֵאמֹ֖ר מ֥וֹת תָּמֽוּת׃
9 מַדּוּעַ֩ נִבֵּ֨יתָ בְשֵׁם־יְהוָ֜ה לֵאמֹ֗ר כְּשִׁלוֹ֙ יִֽהְיֶה֙ הַבַּ֣יִת הַזֶּ֔ה וְהָעִ֥יר הַזֹּ֛את תֶּחֱרַ֖ב מֵאֵ֣ין יוֹשֵׁ֑ב וַיִּקָּהֵ֧ל כָּל־הָעָ֛ם אֶֽל־יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ בְּבֵ֥ית יְהוָֽה׃
10 וַֽיִּשְׁמְע֣וּ׀ שָׂרֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֗ה אֵ֚ת הַדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה וַיַּעֲל֥וּ מִבֵּית־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ בֵּ֣ית יְהוָ֑ה וַיֵּֽשְׁב֛וּ בְּפֶ֥תַח שַֽׁעַר־יְהוָ֖ה הֶחָדָֽשׁ׃ ס
11 וַיֹּ֨אמְר֜וּ הַכֹּהֲנִ֤ים וְהַנְּבִאִים֙ אֶל־הַשָּׂרִ֔ים וְאֶל־כָּל־הָעָ֖ם לֵאמֹ֑ר מִשְׁפַּט־מָ֙וֶת֙ לָאִ֣ישׁ הַזֶּ֔ה כִּ֤י נִבָּא֙ אֶל־הָעִ֣יר הַזֹּ֔את כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר שְׁמַעְתֶּ֖ם בְּאָזְנֵיכֶֽם׃
12 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יִרְמְיָ֙הוּ֙ אֶל־כָּל־הַשָּׂרִ֔ים וְאֶל־כָּל־הָעָ֖ם לֵאמֹ֑ר יְהוָ֣ה שְׁלָחַ֗נִי לְהִנָּבֵ֞א אֶל־הַבַּ֤יִת הַזֶּה֙ וְאֶל־הָעִ֣יר הַזֹּ֔את אֵ֥ת כָּל־הַדְּבָרִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר שְׁמַעְתֶּֽם׃
13 וְעַתָּ֗ה הֵיטִ֤יבוּ דַרְכֵיכֶם֙ וּמַ֣עַלְלֵיכֶ֔ם וְשִׁמְע֕וּ בְּק֖וֹל יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֑ם וְיִנָּחֵ֣ם יְהוָ֔ה אֶל־הָ֣רָעָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבֶּ֖ר עֲלֵיכֶֽם׃
14 וַאֲנִ֖י הִנְנִ֣י בְיֶדְכֶ֑ם עֲשׂוּ־לִ֛י כַּטּ֥וֹב וְכַיָּשָׁ֖ר בְּעֵינֵיכֶֽם׃
15 אַ֣ךְ׀ יָדֹ֣עַ תֵּדְע֗וּ כִּ֣י אִם־מְמִתִ֣ים אַתֶּם֮ אֹתִי֒ כִּי־דָ֣ם נָקִ֗י אַתֶּם֙ נֹתְנִ֣ים עֲלֵיכֶ֔ם וְאֶל־הָעִ֥יר הַזֹּ֖את וְאֶל־יֹשְׁבֶ֑יהָ כִּ֣י בֶאֱמֶ֗ת שְׁלָחַ֤נִי יְהוָה֙ עֲלֵיכֶ֔ם לְדַבֵּר֙ בְּאָזְנֵיכֶ֔ם אֵ֥ת כָּל־הַדְּבָרִ֖ים הָאֵֽלֶּה׃ ס
16 וַיֹּאמְר֤וּ הַשָּׂרִים֙ וְכָל־הָעָ֔ם אֶל־הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים וְאֶל־הַנְּבִיאִ֑ים אֵין־לָאִ֤ישׁ הַזֶּה֙ מִשְׁפַּט־מָ֔וֶת כִּ֗י בְּשֵׁ֛ם יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ דִּבֶּ֥ר אֵלֵֽינוּ׃
17 וַיָּקֻ֣מוּ אֲנָשִׁ֔ים מִזִּקְנֵ֖י הָאָ֑רֶץ וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ אֶל־כָּל־קְהַ֥ל הָעָ֖ם לֵאמֹֽר׃
18 מיכיה מִיכָה֙ הַמּ֣וֹרַשְׁתִּ֔י הָיָ֣ה נִבָּ֔א בִּימֵ֖י חִזְקִיָּ֣הוּ מֶֽלֶךְ־יְהוּדָ֑ה וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֶל־כָּל־עַם֩ יְהוּדָ֨ה לֵאמֹ֜ר כֹּֽה־אָמַ֣ר׀ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֗וֹת צִיּ֞וֹן שָׂדֶ֤ה תֵֽחָרֵשׁ֙ וִירוּשָׁלַ֙יִם֙ עִיִּ֣ים תִּֽהְיֶ֔ה וְהַ֥ר הַבַּ֖יִת לְבָמ֥וֹת יָֽעַר׃
19 הֶהָמֵ֣ת הֱ֠מִתֻהוּ חִזְקִיָּ֨הוּ מֶֽלֶךְ־יְהוּדָ֜ה וְכָל־יְהוּדָ֗ה הֲלֹא֮ יָרֵ֣א אֶת־יְהוָה֒ וַיְחַל֙ אֶת־פְּנֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה וַיִּנָּ֣חֶם יְהוָ֔ה אֶל־הָרָעָ֖ה אֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּ֣ר עֲלֵיהֶ֑ם וַאֲנַ֗חְנוּ עֹשִׂ֛ים רָעָ֥ה גְדוֹלָ֖ה עַל־נַפְשׁוֹתֵֽינוּ׃

23 וַיּוֹצִ֨יאוּ אֶת־אוּרִיָּ֜הוּ מִמִּצְרַ֗יִם וַיְבִאֻ֙הוּ֙ אֶל־הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ יְהוֹיָקִ֔ים וַיַּכֵּ֖הוּ בֶּחָ֑רֶב וַיַּשְׁלֵךְ֙ אֶת־נִבְלָת֔וֹ אֶל־קִבְרֵ֖י בְּנֵ֥י הָעָֽם׃
24 אַ֗ךְ יַ֚ד אֲחִיקָ֣ם בֶּן־שָׁפָ֔ן הָיְתָ֖ה אֶֽת־יִרְמְיָ֑הוּ לְבִלְתִּ֛י תֵּת־אֹת֥וֹ בְיַד־הָעָ֖ם לַהֲמִיתֽוֹ׃ פ

2 Hc dicit Dominus: Sta in atrio domus Domini, et loqueris ad omnes civitates Juda, de quibus veniunt ut adorent in domo Domini universos sermones quos ego mandavi tibi ut loquaris ad eos: noli subtrahere verbum,
3 si forte audiant, et convertantur unusquisque a via sua mala, et pniteat me mali quod cogito facere eis propter malitiam studiorum eorum.
4 Et dices ad eos: Hc dicit Dominus: Si non audieritis me, ut ambuletis in lege mea quam dedi vobis,

8 Cumque complesset Jeremias, loquens omnia qu prceperat ei Dominus ut loqueretur ad universum populum, apprehenderunt eum sacerdotes, et prophet, et omnis populus, dicens: Morte moriatur.
9 Quare prophetavit in nomine Domini, dicens: Sicut Silo erit domus hc, et urbs ista desolabitur eo quod non sit habitator? Et congregatus est omnis populus adversus Jeremiam in domo Domini.
10 Et audierunt principes Juda verba hc, et ascenderunt de domo regis in domum Domini, et sederunt in introitu port domus Domini nov.
11 Et locuti sunt sacerdotes et prophet ad principes, et ad omnem populum, dicentes: Judicium mortis est viro huic, quia prophetavit adversus civitatem istam, sicut audistis auribus vestris.
12 Et ait Jeremias ad omnes principes, et ad universum populum, dicens: Dominus misit me ut prophetarem ad domum istam, et ad civitatem hanc, omnia verba qu audistis.
13 Nunc ergo bonas facite vias vestras et studia vestra, et audite vocem Domini Dei vestri, et pnitebit Dominum mali quod locutus est adversum vos.
14 Ego autem ecce in manibus vestris sum: facite mihi quod bonum et rectum est in oculis vestris.
15 Verumtamen scitote et cognoscite quod, si occideritis me, sanguinem innocentem tradetis contra vosmetipsos, et contra civitatem istam, et habitatores ejus: in veritate enim misit me Dominus ad vos, ut loquerer in auribus vestris omnia verba hc.
16 Et dixerunt principes et omnis populus ad sacerdotes et ad prophetas: Non est viro huic judicium mortis, quia in nomine Domini Dei nostri locutus est ad nos.
17 Surrexerunt ergo viri de senioribus terr, et dixerunt ad omnem ctum populi, loquentes:
18 Michas de Morasthi fuit propheta in diebus Ezechi regis Juda, et ait ad omnem populum Juda, dicens: [Hc dicit Dominus exercituum:
Sion quasi ager arabitur,

19 Numquid morte condemnavit eum Ezechias rex Juda, et omnis Juda? numquid non timuerunt Dominum, et deprecati sunt faciem Domini, et pnituit Dominum mali quod locutus fuerat adversum eos? Itaque nos facimus malum grande contra animas nostras.

9 מַדּוּעַ֩ נִבֵּ֨יתָ בְשֵׁם־יְהוָ֜ה לֵאמֹ֗ר כְּשִׁלוֹ֙ יִֽהְיֶה֙ הַבַּ֣יִת הַזֶּ֔ה וְהָעִ֥יר הַזֹּ֛את תֶּחֱרַ֖ב מֵאֵ֣ין יוֹשֵׁ֑ב וַיִּקָּהֵ֧ל כָּל־הָעָ֛ם אֶֽל־יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ בְּבֵ֥ית יְהוָֽה׃
10 וַֽיִּשְׁמְע֣וּ׀ שָׂרֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֗ה אֵ֚ת הַדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה וַיַּעֲל֥וּ מִבֵּית־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ בֵּ֣ית יְהוָ֑ה וַיֵּֽשְׁב֛וּ בְּפֶ֥תַח שַֽׁעַר־יְהוָ֖ה הֶחָדָֽשׁ׃ ס
11 וַיֹּ֨אמְר֜וּ הַכֹּהֲנִ֤ים וְהַנְּבִאִים֙ אֶל־הַשָּׂרִ֔ים וְאֶל־כָּל־הָעָ֖ם לֵאמֹ֑ר מִשְׁפַּט־מָ֙וֶת֙ לָאִ֣ישׁ הַזֶּ֔ה כִּ֤י נִבָּא֙ אֶל־הָעִ֣יר הַזֹּ֔את כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר שְׁמַעְתֶּ֖ם בְּאָזְנֵיכֶֽם׃
12 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יִרְמְיָ֙הוּ֙ אֶל־כָּל־הַשָּׂרִ֔ים וְאֶל־כָּל־הָעָ֖ם לֵאמֹ֑ר יְהוָ֣ה שְׁלָחַ֗נִי לְהִנָּבֵ֞א אֶל־הַבַּ֤יִת הַזֶּה֙ וְאֶל־הָעִ֣יר הַזֹּ֔את אֵ֥ת כָּל־הַדְּבָרִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר שְׁמַעְתֶּֽם׃
13 וְעַתָּ֗ה הֵיטִ֤יבוּ דַרְכֵיכֶם֙ וּמַ֣עַלְלֵיכֶ֔ם וְשִׁמְע֕וּ בְּק֖וֹל יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֑ם וְיִנָּחֵ֣ם יְהוָ֔ה אֶל־הָ֣רָעָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבֶּ֖ר עֲלֵיכֶֽם׃
14 וַאֲנִ֖י הִנְנִ֣י בְיֶדְכֶ֑ם עֲשׂוּ־לִ֛י כַּטּ֥וֹב וְכַיָּשָׁ֖ר בְּעֵינֵיכֶֽם׃
15 אַ֣ךְ׀ יָדֹ֣עַ תֵּדְע֗וּ כִּ֣י אִם־מְמִתִ֣ים אַתֶּם֮ אֹתִי֒ כִּי־דָ֣ם נָקִ֗י אַתֶּם֙ נֹתְנִ֣ים עֲלֵיכֶ֔ם וְאֶל־הָעִ֥יר הַזֹּ֖את וְאֶל־יֹשְׁבֶ֑יהָ כִּ֣י בֶאֱמֶ֗ת שְׁלָחַ֤נִי יְהוָה֙ עֲלֵיכֶ֔ם לְדַבֵּר֙ בְּאָזְנֵיכֶ֔ם אֵ֥ת כָּל־הַדְּבָרִ֖ים הָאֵֽלֶּה׃ ס
16 וַיֹּאמְר֤וּ הַשָּׂרִים֙ וְכָל־הָעָ֔ם אֶל־הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים וְאֶל־הַנְּבִיאִ֑ים אֵין־לָאִ֤ישׁ הַזֶּה֙ מִשְׁפַּט־מָ֔וֶת כִּ֗י בְּשֵׁ֛ם יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ דִּבֶּ֥ר אֵלֵֽינוּ׃
17 וַיָּקֻ֣מוּ אֲנָשִׁ֔ים מִזִּקְנֵ֖י הָאָ֑רֶץ וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ אֶל־כָּל־קְהַ֥ל הָעָ֖ם לֵאמֹֽר׃
18 מיכיה מִיכָה֙ הַמּ֣וֹרַשְׁתִּ֔י הָיָ֣ה נִבָּ֔א בִּימֵ֖י חִזְקִיָּ֣הוּ מֶֽלֶךְ־יְהוּדָ֑ה וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֶל־כָּל־עַם֩ יְהוּדָ֨ה לֵאמֹ֜ר כֹּֽה־אָמַ֣ר׀ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֗וֹת צִיּ֞וֹן שָׂדֶ֤ה תֵֽחָרֵשׁ֙ וִירוּשָׁלַ֙יִם֙ עִיִּ֣ים תִּֽהְיֶ֔ה וְהַ֥ר הַבַּ֖יִת לְבָמ֥וֹת יָֽעַר׃
19 הֶהָמֵ֣ת הֱ֠מִתֻהוּ חִזְקִיָּ֨הוּ מֶֽלֶךְ־יְהוּדָ֜ה וְכָל־יְהוּדָ֗ה הֲלֹא֮ יָרֵ֣א אֶת־יְהוָה֒ וַיְחַל֙ אֶת־פְּנֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה וַיִּנָּ֣חֶם יְהוָ֔ה אֶל־הָרָעָ֖ה אֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּ֣ר עֲלֵיהֶ֑ם וַאֲנַ֗חְנוּ עֹשִׂ֛ים רָעָ֥ה גְדוֹלָ֖ה עַל־נַפְשׁוֹתֵֽינוּ׃
20 וְגַם־אִ֗ישׁ הָיָ֤ה מִתְנַבֵּא֙ בְּשֵׁ֣ם יְהוָ֔ה אֽוּרִיָּ֙הוּ֙ בֶּֽן־שְׁמַעְיָ֔הוּ מִקִּרְיַ֖ת הַיְּעָרִ֑ים וַיִּנָּבֵ֞א עַל־הָעִ֤יר הַזֹּאת֙ וְעַל־הָאָ֣רֶץ הַזֹּ֔את כְּכֹ֖ל דִּבְרֵ֥י יִרְמְיָֽהוּ׃
21 וַיִּשְׁמַ֣ע הַמֶּֽלֶךְ־יְ֠הוֹיָקִים וְכָל־גִּבּוֹרָ֤יו וְכָל־הַשָּׂרִים֙ אֶת־דְּבָרָ֔יו וַיְבַקֵּ֥שׁ הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ הֲמִית֑וֹ וַיִּשְׁמַ֤ע אוּרִיָּ֙הוּ֙ וַיִּרָ֔א וַיִּבְרַ֖ח וַיָּבֹ֥א מִצְרָֽיִם׃
22 וַיִּשְׁלַ֞ח הַמֶּ֧לֶךְ יְהוֹיָקִ֛ים אֲנָשִׁ֖ים מִצְרָ֑יִם אֵ֣ת אֶלְנָתָ֧ן בֶּן־עַכְבּ֛וֹר וַאֲנָשִׁ֥ים אִתּ֖וֹ אֶל־מִצְרָֽיִם׃
23 וַיּוֹצִ֨יאוּ אֶת־אוּרִיָּ֜הוּ מִמִּצְרַ֗יִם וַיְבִאֻ֙הוּ֙ אֶל־הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ יְהוֹיָקִ֔ים וַיַּכֵּ֖הוּ בֶּחָ֑רֶב וַיַּשְׁלֵךְ֙ אֶת־נִבְלָת֔וֹ אֶל־קִבְרֵ֖י בְּנֵ֥י הָעָֽם׃
24 אַ֗ךְ יַ֚ד אֲחִיקָ֣ם בֶּן־שָׁפָ֔ן הָיְתָ֖ה אֶֽת־יִרְמְיָ֑הוּ לְבִלְתִּ֛י תֵּת־אֹת֥וֹ בְיַד־הָעָ֖ם לַהֲמִיתֽוֹ׃ פ

1 In principio regni Joakim filii Josi regis Juda, factum est verbum istud a Domino, dicens:
2 Hc dicit Dominus: Sta in atrio domus Domini, et loqueris ad omnes civitates Juda, de quibus veniunt ut adorent in domo Domini universos sermones quos ego mandavi tibi ut loquaris ad eos: noli subtrahere verbum,
3 si forte audiant, et convertantur unusquisque a via sua mala, et pniteat me mali quod cogito facere eis propter malitiam studiorum eorum.
4 Et dices ad eos: Hc dicit Dominus: Si non audieritis me, ut ambuletis in lege mea quam dedi vobis,
5 ut audiatis sermones servorum meorum prophetarum quos ego misi ad vos, de nocte consurgens, et dirigens, et non audistis:
6 dabo domum istam sicut Silo, et urbem hanc dabo in maledictionem cunctis gentibus terr.
7 Et audierunt sacerdotes, et prophet, et omnis populus, Jeremiam loquentem verba hc in domo Domini.
8 Cumque complesset Jeremias, loquens omnia qu prceperat ei Dominus ut loqueretur ad universum populum, apprehenderunt eum sacerdotes, et prophet, et omnis populus, dicens: Morte moriatur.
9 Quare prophetavit in nomine Domini, dicens: Sicut Silo erit domus hc, et urbs ista desolabitur eo quod non sit habitator? Et congregatus est omnis populus adversus Jeremiam in domo Domini.
10 Et audierunt principes Juda verba hc, et ascenderunt de domo regis in domum Domini, et sederunt in introitu port domus Domini nov.
11 Et locuti sunt sacerdotes et prophet ad principes, et ad omnem populum, dicentes: Judicium mortis est viro huic, quia prophetavit adversus civitatem istam, sicut audistis auribus vestris.
12 Et ait Jeremias ad omnes principes, et ad universum populum, dicens: Dominus misit me ut prophetarem ad domum istam, et ad civitatem hanc, omnia verba qu audistis.
13 Nunc ergo bonas facite vias vestras et studia vestra, et audite vocem Domini Dei vestri, et pnitebit Dominum mali quod locutus est adversum vos.
14 Ego autem ecce in manibus vestris sum: facite mihi quod bonum et rectum est in oculis vestris.
15 Verumtamen scitote et cognoscite quod, si occideritis me, sanguinem innocentem tradetis contra vosmetipsos, et contra civitatem istam, et habitatores ejus: in veritate enim misit me Dominus ad vos, ut loquerer in auribus vestris omnia verba hc.
16 Et dixerunt principes et omnis populus ad sacerdotes et ad prophetas: Non est viro huic judicium mortis, quia in nomine Domini Dei nostri locutus est ad nos.
17 Surrexerunt ergo viri de senioribus terr, et dixerunt ad omnem ctum populi, loquentes:
18 Michas de Morasthi fuit propheta in diebus Ezechi regis Juda, et ait ad omnem populum Juda, dicens: [Hc dicit Dominus exercituum:
Sion quasi ager arabitur,
et Jerusalem in acervum lapidum erit,
et mons domus in excelsa silvarum.]
19 Numquid morte condemnavit eum Ezechias rex Juda, et omnis Juda? numquid non timuerunt Dominum, et deprecati sunt faciem Domini, et pnituit Dominum mali quod locutus fuerat adversum eos? Itaque nos facimus malum grande contra animas nostras.
20 Fuit quoque vir prophetans in nomine Domini, Urias filius Semei de Cariathiarim, et prophetavit adversus civitatem istam, et adversus terram hanc, juxta omnia verba Jeremi.
21 Et audivit rex Joakim, et omnes potentes et principes ejus, verba hc, et qusivit rex interficere eum: et audivit Urias, et timuit, fugitque, et ingressus est gyptum.
22 Et misit rex Joakim viros in gyptum, Elnathan filium Achobor, et viros cum eo, in gyptum,
23 et eduxerunt Uriam de gypto, et adduxerunt eum ad regem Joakim, et percussit eum gladio, et projecit cadaver ejus in sepulchris vulgi ignobilis.
24 Igitur manus Ahicam filii Saphan fuit cum Jeremia, ut non traderetur in manus populi, et interficerent eum.
