Sixth Khandhaka. Chapter 7

7.

1. Now at that time people provided arbours (ma"n"d"apas), and couches, and room for the use of the Sa"m"gha. And the pupils of the "Kh"abbaggiya Bhikkhus, saying, 'It has been laid down by the Blessed One that that which pertains (wholly) to the Sa"m"gha shall be used according to seniority, but not that which is given only for the temporary use of the Sa"m"gha,' went on in front of the Sa"m"gha and occupied the ma"n"d"apas, and occupied the couches, and occupied the room, saying, 'This shall be for our superiors, and this for our teachers, and this for ourselves.'

And Sriputta (&c., as in last chapter, 1, 2, down to) Then the Blessed One rebuked them, &c., and said to the Bhikkhus, 'Even that which has been set aside only for the temporary use of
