O Dev 1
of full breasts, 2 whose throat is adorned with a garland of heads, They who meditating 3 recite any one or two or three of Thy very secret and excelling "Bjas" or all ther 4 together with Thy name, 5 in the moonlike face of all such the Dev of Speech 6 ever Wanders, and in their lotus-like eyes Kamal 7 ever plays. 8

Commentary

\"'Dev'"

The self-manifest one.

'Full breasts' ("Pnastandhy")

The milk of these is the, food with which She nourishes the world and the drink of immortality with which She liberates Her Sdhakas.

"'Whose neck' (Muda-sragatiaya-lasat-kai)"

She who is abdabrahman consisting of 50 Letters. Niruttara-Tantra says, 'She is adorned with a garland of heads representing the 50 letters.' Kmadhenu-Tantra says, 'In My throat is the wonderful Bja of 50 letters.' Again ' I worship the Mother the source of the universe, abdabrahman itself, blissful.' Vivasra says, 'Blissful Brahman is adorned with abdabrahman and within the body is represented by all Mantra.

"'Bja'"

Mrti (appearance) in the individual aspect as Prja, Taijasa, and Viva and in the aggregate as a, Stra and Vird. Devgt says 'the causal self is Prja, the subtle bodied one is Taijasa and the gross bodied one is Viva.' Similarly a is spoken of as a, Stra and Vird. The first is the individual (Vyati) aspect and the second the aggregate (Samati) aspect.

\"Eyes (Netra)"

Not to speak of themselves being wealthy, the sight of them gives wealth to others. Bhairava Tantra says that Kamal and the Dev of speech never forsake them for three generations downwards.

\"Pinstandhye" (see also Bhairavstotra in Tantra-sra, p. 596). The physical characteristics of the Dev in swelling breasts and hips are emblematic of Her great Motherhood, for She is "rmt". See also as to the former, Durg-"Dhyna" in Dev-Pura, which speaks of her large and rising breasts ("Pnonnata-payodhar"); the Annapr-"Stava" ("Vakojakubhntari"); Bhuvanevar-"Stotra" ("pivara-stanatat"); and the Saraswat-"Dhyna" ("Kucabharanamitg"). The Annaprn-"Dhyna" ("Annapradna-nirat stanabhra-nar") speaks of Her limbs as weighted by Her breasts. The Mahbhgavata describes Her as naked, terrific, with fiery eyes, full and erect breasts, and dishevelled hair; and the Lalit (verse 15) says: 'Her golden girdle supports Her waist, which bends under the burden of Her breasts, thrice folding the skin below Her bosom' ("Stanabhra-dalanmadhya-pattabhandha-valitray").

\"Bhvayantah", that is, meditating on the naked, full-breasted, black form with dishevelled hair as stated in Her "Dhyna", and which is the "Artha" of the particular "Mantra". The "Bhtauddhi-Tantra" says, 'A Mantra should be recited mentally meditating the while on the form of the "Dev" denoted by it ' (v).

Any one of the aforesaid Bjas or the whole that is, the whole nine-lettered "Vidy" in full. Which according to the Kumr-Tantra cited in Tantraratna is "Kr, Kr, Kr, H, H, H, Hr, Hr, Hr". ymrahaya quoting Klik-ruti, says that the whole "Vidy" should be recited once, twice or thrice, or the whole "mantra" with '"Dakie Klike" between the Bjas.' (K. B.) Thus, "Kr, Kr, Kr, H, H, Hr, Hr, Dakie Klike, Kr, Kr, Kr, H, H, Hr, Hr".

\"Dakie Klik".

59:6
\"Sarasvati". The Bhradvja-Smt says Sarasvat is She who ever resides in the tongue of all beings, and who causes speech.

\"Lakmi": for them is all learning, wealth, and prosperity (see Mahnirva-Tantra, "Ullsa", vii, verse 50).

59:8 In the other words they become rich and learned.
